I signed up for Sew It Academy because I was frustrated with buying clothes that didn't really fit me the way I would like them to. My weight had been fluctuating for few years and I couldn't just pull "my size" off the rack anymore. I've always enjoyed creating things, but sewing never crossed my mind until I found Mimi on Pinterest and was so inspired by her work, and from there discovered Sew It Academy and jumped on it as soon as I could! I'd never touched a sewing machine before, but her courses are so informative and easy to follow. Mimi is an outstanding teacher! I've jumped into making garments for myself and there's no greater confidence boost than having something fit you perfectly, and knowing that you made it! This is one of the best decisions I've made for myself.

I was skeptical how I would be able to learn online when I have difficulty learning in general. Both Mimi and Norris teach and speak in a way, along with demonstration, that anyone could learn how. Best investment for me since the tools gained has lead me to having my own successful business! 10/10 stars!

Although I had already been sewing I enrolled because I’ve never had any formal sewing instruction. I’m so glad I signed up. I’ve learned something new in every single class I’ve taken. I’ve learned how to draft a bodice and skirt sloper, how to trace RTW clothes to recreate them and slew of other sewing techniques. Just this month I learned how to properly cut fur.
